A/Prof Amir Razmjou

Associate Professor at Edith Cowan University, Board Director of the Membrane Society of Australasia, and founder and leader of ECU’s Mineral Recovery Research Centre (MRRC). With a over 20 years’ experience, multi-industry background spanning surface engineering, critical mineral extraction (e.g., lithium, rubidium, high-purity alumina), membranes, and sensors and health. he has led groundbreaking research, secured over $15.4 million in funding, published extensively, and received multiple prestigious awards. He received his doctorate from the UNSW in Sydney, Australia, in 2012. Amir has received several awards, such as the 2024 WA FHRI Fund Innovation Fellow and 2024 ECU Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Award for Excellence in Research and the 2023 MSA Industry Innovation Award. He has supervised more than 40 master’s and Ph.D. candidates and serves in editorial roles for journals such as Desalination.
